What is up with HAL?
You can thank my husband for my nickname HAL; my initials backwards. I have arthritis in my hip so I cannot run or walk fast. So jokingly he with his co-workers decided they would take me along on safari, so if chased by lions, they would have a chance to escape. Hence Hop Along Lori came about. Sweet, huh.
My email “birdie” is from when I assisted with Girl Scouts. The girls would pick on me about how well I knew birds; so as a nickname from them, they would call me Birdie.
As an artist I see myself as a quirky, independent, and unique individual. Each piece is created from impulsive inspiration. I love to mix it up when it comes to designs and motifs. Rich colors, rare shapes and a one-of-a-kind design set my jewelry apart from the traditional. This way I feel my artwork never loses its interesting and vibrant appeal. As my skills become multifaceted, so does the jewelry I create. With each new creation, I see a little piece of my personality become art.
